there's more than one right way to do things
not everything is a “one size fits all” and not every solution is the product of a single systematic process. there are a multitude of paths that can lead to an end goal.
this is a mindset that i’ve held for pretty much my entire life but is manifesting itself intensely at this stage of my life. you see, i’m currently in the process of finding another job because this project isn’t paying the bills (yet :P). in this search, i’m being met with conflicting advice on all sides:
“just get any job for now then leave it once you find something that you enjoy more”
“be selective, but not too selective. find any job that will teach you relevant skills, no matter what it is. then you can leave that one once you find a better fit for you”
“there’s no point in getting just any job if you’re going to leave it shortly after. be intentional with your search and eventually it will have been worth the wait”
of course, this applies to many more situations in life, far too many for me to list. if you’ve gone through anything like this then you know what i’m talking about.
the point that i want to make is that every struggle in life is accompanied by a plethora of solutions. don’t fall into the trap of thinking that there is just one way of solving things. in doing so, you’ll only create more stress for yourself and lock yourself into a long and narrow tunnel.
follow your intuition, think logically about why this choice stands out to you, and proceed from there.
