I hope each and every one of you reading had safe holidays. Just wanted to give you all an update regarding the newsletter: I have transitioned it entirely to Squarespace (my website provider). I did this for a few reasons:
To have just one hub.
If you’re a regular reader of the newsletter then you know that I often include affiliate links to books at the end. What you may not know is that I also sell photography prints (currently under third-party fulfillment but that will change soon- stay tuned) and accept donations. I wanted to keep all of my works centralized, which is why I finally decided to make the jump now.
A cleaner interface.
Another thing that you may not be aware of is that I archive every published newsletter from here (Substack) on my website. In my opinion, Squarespace has a more visually pleasing user experience and it strengthens the vision that I have for my newsletter’s image. Plus, it also helps differentiate me from the other Substack newsletters that you may be subscribed to.
It makes marketing a lot easier.
To continue to publish on this platform in conjunction with maintaining my website would be complicated, to say the least. Either I’d have to pay double for online advertising or hope that enough people redirect to my website. Now, I can focus my marketing efforts solely on my website and continue to improve my current and eventual offerings.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WORK TO BE DONE ON YOUR PART.
All that I have to do is transfer your e-mail addresses to Squarespace’s e-mail server and you will continue to receive the newsletters like normal, just with a slightly difference appearance.
Once I finalize all of the logistics, I’ll be back to writing. I’ll keep you all in the loop with any further updates.
